The May Fair Hotel in London has joined the Radisson Collection’s portfolio of luxury five star hotels. The glamorous hotel is a contemporary boutique getaway and is known for its timeless elegance and charm. It now ranks among the finest luxury hotels in London.

The Radisson Collection is a new generation of unique and iconic properties in one-of-a-kind spaces. “In our collection of exceptional hotels, no two are ever the same and each has a unique character authentic to its locality,” says Botho Stein, General Manager at The May Fair Hotel. “The modern design blends elegance in form and function, making our hotels the ultimate destination for those who value a vibrant and upscale lifestyle.”

Ultimately, all of these properties offer the definitive template for contemporary living – united by modern design and exceptional experiences across dining, fitness, wellness and sustainability, he adds.

A Historic Property

The historic property, which is owned by the prominent Edwardian Hotels London Group, has a long history of being at the center of London’s high society. During the roaring twenties it had a tour of inspection by King George V and Queen Mary. Later, it was owned by the Danziger brothers, who were Hollywood producers that took the hotel’s larger-than-life legacy into new heights.

An Epicenter of Glamour and Activity

Today, the hotel remains a hub of glamour and activity. For the past eleven years it has been the official partner of London Fashion Week and the BFI Film Festival. This past June, auditions were held there for British television talent show, The Voice UK (it is the only hotel in London with its own theatre). As it is centrally located in the tony Mayfair neighborhood, the hotel is surrounded by restaurants, art galleries, designer boutiques and flagship stores on nearby Mount, Bruton, Dover, Berkeley and Bond Streets. The hotel is also located in close proximity to Buckingham Palace.

A Diverse Selection of Guest Rooms and Suites

In style and setting, each of the Radisson Collection properties is unique and The May Fair is no different. The property’s large and diverse selection of 404 guest rooms includes 11 signature suites—-including three duplex suites.

There are 19 studio suites and seven junior suites. Guest rooms and suites range in size from 25 square meters to 200 square meters. Each guest room and suite has a residential feel and is furnished with luxurious linens and duvets, sleep kits and marble bathrooms. Suites are also equipped with state-of-the-art Toto toilets with one even boasting a Toto bathtub.

Bespoke Services

The bespoke hotel pays attention to even the smallest of details, from the moment a guest enters its spacious lobby adorned with glimmering Baccarat chandeliers. Adjacent to the front desk is a Welcome Corner, where “The May Fair Pick and Mix” sweet trolley is located. Here, guests can select from a wide array of confections, and fill supplied goodie bags with gummy bears, jelly beans and an array of hard candies. “It has been a roaring success with children and adults alike,” says Stein.

The hotel highly values its repeat guests and makes a great effort to make them feel special. For example, when one repeat guest returned to the hotel with her young daughter who the hotel recalled was an avid fan of the Harry Potter book series, the guest relations manager surprised them with a selection of Harry Potter souvenirs that were placed in their guest room ahead of their arrival. It is not unusual for the hotel to present its guests a local gift, such as bath oils from a local vender or tea from Fortnum & Mason.

The craft cocktail and antipasti trolley is another example of a bespoke service provided by the hotel. Available from mid-day to 11:00 pm nightly, an in-house mixologist will come to a guest’s room or suite with a trolley equipped with all of the ingredients necessary to prepare one of the May Fair’s signature cocktails on the spot. Cocktails including The Stratton Street Gin and Tonic, Passion Fruit Bellini, Classic Martini, Sangria and May Fair Negroni are expertly created in the comfort of a guest’s room or suite and served in crystal glasses. A selection of antipasti can also be requested to accompany the cocktails.

The hotel’s monthly VIP cocktail party enables guests to meet and mingle with the general manager and management team while enjoying a complimentary glass of Champagne and hors d'oeuvres.

World Class Food and Beverage Offerings

The hotel boasts exceptional dining with its impressive food and beverage offerings. Edwardian Hotels London's Service Excellence Director, Amir Jati, whose career includes Privater Dining at Nobu, launched May Fair Kitchen in 2014.

The restaurant showcases contemporary Spanish and Italian small plates, in addition to signature contemporary Peruvian, Mexican and Japanese dishes from its sister restaurants, Monmouth Kitchen, Leicester Square Kitchen and Peter Street Kitchen. The restaurant’s terrace is one of London’s best kept secrets and offers a sleek open-air enclave in which to dine and the restaurant’s breakfast buffet is one of the best in London.

The hotel offers a Charbonnel et Walker chocolate-themed signature afternoon tea each day in May Fair Kitchen. In addition to a range of sandwiches, the tea offers a wide array of chocolate desserts from scones and cakes to donuts and truffles. The cost is £35 per person or £45 per person with a glass of Moët & Chandon Brut Impérial NV.

May Fair Bar features craft cocktails made with herbs and innovative home-made ingredients and a glamorous martini bar. The bar also serves small plates, from Wagyu beef sliders in brioche buns to spicy King Prawns made in a tandoor oven.

May Fair Spa and Fitness Facilities

The May Fair Spa is a state-of-the-art facility that offers a full repertoire of treatments, from facial and massages to body wraps, body scrubs and steam cleansing treatments. The facility is equipped with an aromatic steam room, herbal sauna, experience showers, ice fountain and candlelit relaxation room with heated beds. Hotel guests can purchase a Leisure Pass for £15 which includes access to all wet spa facilities, except the relaxation room. For those having treatments or packages, all facilities are included in the treatment price.

Guests of The May Fair also have access to the May Fair Gym which is equipped with cross-trainers, power plate treadmills, exercycles, and a wide array of weight-training equipment. Personal trainers who will custom-tailor workouts for guests are also available.

The hotel is currently offering several special packages, including a VIP Shopping Experience for weekend stays. The package features a day of shopping at Bicester Village which offers more than 160 boutiques.
