With weeks left in 2019, Spotify has already shared its annual ranking of the most successful artists, albums and individual songs of the year, separating the global lists from the U.S.-specific tallies. Post Malone dominates every field he’s eligible in when it comes to America, and that shouldn’t come as a surprise to anybody who follows the charts...or who is even vaguely aware of what’s happening in the music world.

Also unsurprisingly, hip-hop figures take up more than half the spots, especially when it comes to the most-streamed males, as rappers have become the new pop stars in America...though there are still plenty of representatives from that genre present as well.

Here’s a look at the top five most-streamed artists, songs and albums in the U.S. on Spotify in 2019.

Most Streamed Artists of 2019

1. Post Malone

2. Drake

3. Billie Eilish

4. Ariana Grande

5. Khalid

Post Malone also topped the list of the most-streamed artists globally, so it makes sense he’d lead the charge on the ranking of the most successful acts in his home country. Despite not landing a Drake-sized hit in 2019, the Canadian hip-hop mogul still comes in second, placed there in large part by older titles. Female pop stars Billie Eilish and Ariana Grande come next with powerful albums, and Khalid rounds out the top five.

Most Streamed Songs of 2019

1. Post Malone - “Sunflower (ft. Swae Lee)”

2. Post Malone - “Wow”

3. Ariana Grande - “7 Rings”

4. J. Cole - “Middle Child”

5. Billie Eilish - “Bad Guy”

Impressively, Malone scored the two most-streamed songs of 2019 in a relatively rare showing of immense popularity. His two titles, “Sunflower” and “Wow,” were both actually released in 2018, but they reached their peaks and held on for months on the charts this year. Both Grande’s “7 Rings” and Eilish’s “Bad Guy” reached No. 1 on the Hot 100, while J. Cole’s “Middle Child” only made it to No. 4, though fans kept streaming it throughout 2019.

Most Streamed Albums of 2019

1. Post Malone - Hollywood’s Bleeding

2. Billie Eilish - When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?

3. Ariana Grande - Thank U, Next

4. Post Malone - Beerbongs and Bentleys

5. Khalid - Free Spirit

Just like on the most-streamed songs list, Malone takes up a pair of spots, something no other act managed. His new effort Hollywood’s Bleeding leads the way, but not far behind, his 2018 chart-topper Beerbongs and Bentleys stands out as the only release from last year. That set continued to perform extremely well throughout 2019, and it’s still going strong, even now that he’s delivered a new project for fans to listen to.

Most Streamed Female Artists of 2019

1. Billie Eilish

2. Ariana Grande

3. Taylor Swift

4. Halsey

5. Cardi B

The highest-ranking women on this list all delivered new albums in 2019, and while Halsey and Cardi B didn’t, they were busy rolling out singles from what will be their next blockbusters. All the names above scored big hits this past year, but Eilish really dominated when it came to streaming platforms.

Most Streamed Male Artists of 2019

1. Post Malone

2. Drake

3. Khalid

4. Juice WRLD

5. XXXTentacion

Of the five most-streamed male musicians on Spotify in the U.S. this year, only Khalid doesn’t fit squarely into the hip-hop category. Interestingly, almost all the stars listed landed both a No. 1 album and a top 10 hit (at least one), but Malone is the only one to rule the Hot 100 (and he’s now done so twice in 2019). Only the late hip-hop figure XXXTentacion failed to accomplish either.
