When buying gifts for the home it can be difficult to find a piece which is unique and has the potential to become a future heirloom. However, with vintage items you can often find affordable one-off options and avoid the rising levels of mass-production which abound at this time of year.

Flea markets and charity shops teem with vintage treasures, but it takes time to discover that special piece. Browsing online in the comfort of your own home is a lot easier with Christmas just around the corner and, thanks to a wealth of brands now offering a digital platform for antiques and collectables, the marketplace has become increasingly accessible.
